That may again be due to my experience with seeing bodies in far worse states, I mean, if you’ve ever studied medicine, you will see some god awful things, especially within surgery. I just think when you hear about mutilations and cannibalism, the human mind conjures horrible images, and in comparison to the imagination, these photos don’t really “shock” me. I don’t want to diminish how awful and sad the deaths of those unfortunate 17 men were, it’s soul crushing to their families what they had to go through. As in, if there were high resolution images and other angles of these scenes, it might have more of an impact. The Polaroids are old, so the quality of the photos are not great, which I think detracts from how gruesome the victims deaths were in reality. The sight of viscera is something you become accustomed to after a while. I studied medicine for a long while, so I was in a cadaver lab and was part of the dissection team for a semester. These are pretty “tame” visually compared to what I’ve seen. Eh, thinking someone is sick is understandable I guess, but this is my reasoning behind why I call them “tame,” and tbh it’s largely due to my personal experiences throughout my schooling.
